Paigum was constituted as an S.A. about 30 years ago, coinciding with the relocation of its main factory, changing from its historic emplacement in Pueblo Nuevo(Barcelona), to the actual one in Rubí(also in Barcelona).
Immediately, the production of our PAIGUM MONOCOMPONENT POLYURETHANE PAINT FOR PAVEMENTS 1C was set on, a product entirely developed with our own technology, which aim was to give prescriptors, professionals and specialized distributors a high quality coating, able to fulfill the upcoming demands of the industry and services, as far as industrials and parking pavements protection was concerned.
All along these years we have assisted with great illusion to the consolidation of that product as one of the best pavement coatings within national and international supply, which in turn has allowed us to develop a complete range of coating and waterproofing products for paving uses, as the result of a non-stop R+D effort always looking for answers to the increasingly sophisticated necessities of the paving sector: State of the art decorating systems, unknown within our market, free from COVs, highly functional 100% solid varnishes, high resistance monolayer waterproofing elastomer able to be applied at atmospheric temperatures, resin-cement mix self leveling, auxiliary products and additives, always based on the last achievements of polyurethane chemistry.
Today we reach an important goal: we have finished the necessary enlargement of our processing and storing facilities, and we begin a new stage in our development.

DECOPUR no VOCs, no limits, no solvents. A solvent-free family of polyurethane paints and varnishes without solvents or water, 100% fixed matter, aromatic, aliphatic and totally fluid, and what is more, they are 1K (One Component).
This new series includes aromatic as well as aliphatic, that is why they can be applied over highly decorative finish without discolouring and also for outdoor finish. New frontiers for the top coats, self leveling and literally “lacquered” finish, without joints and pot life, with a really low consumption, no flammable, no smell and non toxic. The varnishes allow all kind of handling for spectacular decorative cement finish.
08/06/2009 Injection foams and pavement consolidating products
Under the new epigraph of INJECTION PRODUCTS we have completed the range of materials intended for this purpose which started with our PAIGUM INYECCIÓN 25 1C monocomponent water-reactive foam, with a whole complementary family to achieve terrain consolidation with monocomponent polyurethane products, bicomponent polyurethane fissure sealers and monocomponent rising dampness cryztallizers.
This month of May we have changed the solids concentration in the ELASTOKIT system, polyurethane liquid membranes and have moved it to 98% solids. As it turns to a solvent-free product, it offers more favourable usage properties, without any drawback even in the confection of high width elastic pavements. It also makes it suitable for pouring in technical rubber molds, to obtain thickness, printing countermoulds, given its very high mechanic and elastic properties, and tear resistance, very far from the other products that compete in the market. We now offer more solids, more benefits, and the same price.
07/11/2008 ELASTOKIT and their systems
Polyurethane-polyurea Elastokit polyurethane liquid membranes has enlarged its family, with two complementary versions: ELASTOPRO additive and ELASTOJUNTAS additive. The first one maintains, when combined with ELASTOKIT a product with a very long pot-life, even longer than a day, keeping the capacity of being applied in thick layers without any bubble formation, although you obtain membranes of lower mechanical benefits it has been developed for a market of less expert handling than ELASTORAPIT additive. The second one allows the achievement of horizontal expansion joints by pouring and filling. It has a softer elastic module which makes it ideal for this kind of jobs and is much cheaper than the traditional system of putty in cartridges.
07/11/2008 Testing resbar
In APPLUS, homologated laboratories, tests have been carried out, to meassure the slipperiness index on our poryurethane and epoxide finish, adding ceramic antislipping aggregates which we refer to as fine and thick granulometry aggregates in our catalogues. The obtained results by following the “english pendulum test” show lectures that easily surpass CLASS 3 from the building quality code. Along with the fire behaviour results, this allows our products to be used in a wide range of construction duties. Having said so,self leveling continuous pavements can meet this normative. 05/11/2008 Fire behaviour tests
Fire behaviour tests have been carried out on some PAIGUM products. Actually, on ELASTOKIT (liquid elastic membrane), on self levelling polyurethane pavement and on polyurethane paints, in APPUS laboratories. Results have been satisfactory in torch and in radiant panel test as well, allowing the use of these products in the determined zones (as Bfl-S1). Waterproofing, industrial pavements, parking slots, etc. You can check the complete certification in the part of CERTIFICATES.
Facing the challenge of new markets, Paigum has developed a new material, transparent self leveling epoxi pavement, for industrial and decorative pavements finish, sporting exceptional properties. Compared to our previous self leveling epoxi pavement, it offers the following advantages: it is more fluid(it self levels), it is harder (better scratch resistance), it is transparent as water (better decoration), it is more resistant to discolouring (it can even be applied on white backgrounds or stained itself in white with a little discolouring in time. This properties are rarely found in any other epoxidic materials. It is already been produced industrialy, so you can ask us for samples of this product. Its price is only a bit higher than the usual.
Paigum inyect 25 1C has been incorporated to our range of products. It comes to replace our former bicomponent injection foam. This product has been developed to prevent water filtration from the inside. It is injected in the water entrances in a liquid form. Its expansion rate is 30 to 1. The flexible foam that it becomes is from a totally closed and waterproof cell. It is also used in the consolidation and filling of low density terrains.
Elastokit spectrum grows bigger with another new additive, which applied with Elastokit base, gives a fluid and elastic bicomponent mastic, suitable to fill, by pouring, expansion joints. It is far cheaper and more functional than PU 1C cartridges. Obviously, the elastic module is softer than Elastokit Rapit (version designed for waterproofing with traffic).
28/02/2008 Paigum Compac 2C. Terrains, soils and pavements stabilization
Another Paigum novelty. It is a stabilizer and consolidator for inconsistent, gritty, clayey and easily smearing terrains. You can obtain dustless paths stable against rain and light traffic. It is also suitable for filling deep ground in order to prevent collapses while digging, also in slopes to avoid slides. It has the double advantage of being an ecological and waterborne product, as well as economic. The organic soluble part that it contains is biodegradable in a few days, so it doesn’t contaminate aquifers.
19/11/2007 Paigum NBA 2C self leveling polyurethane, and Paigum High-tech 1C painting
Another brand new range Paigum NBA 2C (aliphatic self levelling polyurethane 100% solids), regarded as Liquid Cristal by our clients and Paigum High-tech 1C(painting and aliphatic varnish 100% solids), is already being applied to obtain “lacquered” aspect pavements, providing colour stability, high scratch resistance, of an exceptional qualities and properties finish.
ELASTOKIT…..News: after two years of R+D and the launching in Construmat 2007 of the new product ELASTOKIT, it has been successfully applied in the waterproofing of Lisboa’s Exposition. After its baptism of fire of its beginning, this brand new PAIGUM material, which objective is the obtainment of passable elastic rubber membranes and laminas, using polyurea technology, is at last available for sale in our catalogue. This new product is aimed to replace our previous elastic Paigum PUR 1C. which we have been offering you for 15 years and that has been imitated many times this days. This new technology allows us to obtain elastic membranes “in situ” of a 75 Shore A hardness for any thickness in only one application free from bubbles, with a elongation superior to 500% and exceptional resistance to tear and traffic, with a pot-life adequate even for roller or notched trowel application. At a very good price. Currently we are getting the certification for this product. It represents a real breakthrough in the waterproofing field.
